Closely spaced blue-gray badland ridges fold into narrow gullies, their rounded slopes etched with fine erosion lines and alternating bands of light and shadow.

Dreamland

South-Central Utah. 2023

An evening alone, exploring and discovering new areas that result in great images. This is what I live for right here. There is nothing I enjoy more than hiking off into the unknown, completely blind to what I will discover. This is when I really make my best work, simply because I am living in the ever-present moment. There is nothing else on my mind other than looking and watching the land change from each point of contact. This upcoming fall (2024), I will be leading two groups of four workshop participants into this landscape and many others that have never yet been photographed. Each of my workshops that take place in Capitol Reef and the surrounding area, known as the Utah Badlands, Bentonite Hills and Hanksville, is unlike what you will find with other instructors. I thrive on the adventure, and I want my guests to get a taste of what that is like. All while lending insightful critique to composition, settings and much more. Join me this October for a photography workshop to write home about!
