Golden larch trees fade into softly falling snow and mist.

Spotted Bear, Montana. 2021

A small group of golden Larch Trees stand on the side of an old logging road, perfectly vertical. There was an uplift of fog occurring, lifting the up this mountain side and right through this stand of trees. Barely showing the background of the mountain-side forests, this created a nice feel for this image. The fog simplified these scenes, as this fog did this numerous times throughout the few days of me photographing the fall color of the Larch Trees. This area is really unique, a massive fire came in where lodgepole pine trees were, and when they all burnt, in replace of them came the Larch forests. Which is profoundly beautiful and unique. These trees grow huge, about one-hundred feet tall, the bark when they are older are sealed in a fire resistant thick park. Beautiful. They are much more photogenic at this younger stage of their life though.
