Winter Scenes

Ancestors

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, 2020

Low temperatures and consistent snowfall throughout this evening were spectacular. I was looking for a forest scene to show the old growth and the new growth of Ponderosa pine trees. I love this composition for a few reasons. One was that it showcased the contrast between young and old. The older trees become more orange with age, while the younger trees are more dark brown. The separation of the trees is what I think really makes this image shine because there is no overlapping of trees in this composition.
