Winter Scenes

Bathed Precipice

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, 2020

Soft, angled light just after sunrise in Bryce Canyon National Park. This was and is, too this date, some of the nicest, softest light I have ever witnessed. I remember standing here just in awe of the pure beauty of the quality of sunlight shining onto the yellow, red, and orange-colored hoodoos that make up Bryce Canyon. I photographed this scene for a half hour or so before this light became present. After this light came and went, I knew this scene was going to be a keeper. I love landscape photography simply for the enjoyment of watching the light change in a landscape such as Bryce Canyon National Park. Solo camping in the parking lot, lows around 8 degrees without windchill. I awoke to fresh snow and not a soul in sight. Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, 2020
