A dense tangle of pale gray tree trunks and fine branches dotted with small green leaves partially obscures a red rock wall, with soft, even light revealing the overlapping woodland textures.

Chaos Ensues

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Utah. 2026

Wow did I love this scene. I knew I would be up here for twilight light hours earlier. I was just waiting for the time to be standing up here, and I did. For the sunset twilight and for sunrise twilight. The new green leaves blossoming on all the cottonwood trees below was just so beautiful. It wasn't too full to have less amount of texture yet. Spring was in a preferred stage. You can see branches, vibrant new life of green, angles, lines, shapes and all. This was very enjoyable to work with. I spend a few days in Grand Staircase National Monument which is close to my home, from Torrey. I spent a lot of time in Long Canyon, along a trail system down in the trees you see, and along the Escalante River and damn was it a good time.
