Baptism

This was one of the most beautiful days I have seen in Zion National Park. Which says a lot because I've spent months worth of time in Zion. What made it so special was the fact that it wasn't raining or snowing in order to be graced with these low-hanging clouds. This, mixed with blue skies and direct sunlight, was a treat! I came to this location because the Court of the Patriarchs was in and out of the low clouds and they were getting awesome light. I made my way down to the Virgin River, in the main canyon of Zion National Park, to begin working on this scene. After about 30 minutes of framing up compositions, I landed on this particular scene. The river was strong, and the lines of rushing water led right to me, which created many interesting lines that emphasized the overall scene. I set up my tripod and waiting for the right light and clouds and walked away with a beautiful photograph of the Court of the Patriarchs. Zion National Park, Utah, 2020
