Dim-Reflection

Canadian Rockies, Canada. 2024

I was terrified walking out onto this lake. I have not had much experience walking onto frozen lakes or rivers and this scared the hell out of me. Specifically in the dark. We came to the lakeshore, ice melting, slow moving water and deep down into blackness only illuminated by headlamps. Scott thought not much of it but as we stood on the ice, it cracked, showing a rush of water over the thin ice. I, being terrified, stayed there watching Scott disappear into the darkness as he wandered farther onto the lake. I finally got the courage to make a move and I absolutely ran onto the ice and made distance onto the lake as quickly as I could - moving away from the thin ice on the shore. Yikes.
