A close-up of weathered wood fills the frame with flowing vertical grain, scattered knots, and deep grooves in softly blurred bands of gray, brown, and pale gold.

Eons of Life

Dixie National Forest, Utah. 2025

The oldest living organisms on earth: Bristle Cone Pine Trees. This area has hundreds of them. Some of them younger then others as some are likely three-thousand plus years old. Just walking among these feels ancient. It is one of those areas that when you enter it, the vibe, the air, the essence is different. I discuss this often and it is still hard to put it into words. This Bristle Cone pine forest is likely one of the oldest in the state of Utah. And without a shadow of doubt, the most scenic and beautiful.
