Thin waterfalls descend through dark, layered cliffs into winding streams across steep, rust-brown slopes, where patches of green vegetation and deep shadows emphasize ridges and branching erosion channels.

Eruption

Iceland. 2022

This was a roadside pit stop, and as this light came through a dark band of clouds on the horizon, it was obvious that we needed to stop and watch the spectacle happen. The group and myself instantly got out of the van to photograph this scene. The light was coming in, in waves and of absolute quality of light. I probably clicked the shutter over one hundred times. I have processed a few images of this same scene and similar composition but as I was going through some of them again, for the 20th time, this image really stood out with a great sense of height, movement and an overall epic feeling. When we left this spot I knew that I made an image worth while and that it was going to end up on my site as a portfolio worthy image. I hope you enjoy.
