Whitefish, Montana. 2020
This was one of the coolest and most fascinating things I have ever experienced! This was a literal beam of light, surrounded hundreds of thousands of floating crystals. Out of a partial cloudy sky—nothing out of the ordinary—this skinny beam or shaft of light came down from the clouds all the way to the earth's floor! I am still not exactly sure what this is, was or how it was formed, but it is something I have never seen or heard of before. I saw what was going on, so I grabbed my camera gear and went out to find some sort of subject matter to help bring it to life. In this image, you can see the orbs of crystals that were lit up from this one and only beam of light. I photographed a handful of compositions in varying ways to attempt to showcase just how neat this was, and this is one of a few that I like. I hope you enjoy a unique winter scene in Whitefish, Montana!
