Vestrahorn, Iceland. 2022

This area of a black sand beach in Iceland was covered in a layer of ice patterns. It was a massive area, I think what happened was a high-tide came in and when it was leaving, the water left in the sand rose and froze when temperatures froze. This created a beautiful and unique display of ice patterns, shapes and forms. Some sections had zero air in the ice, so it kept as black as the sand below it, in fact, it looked like there was no ice at all. Which was as smooth as butter!
