Autumn ColorsHeartfelt
Capitol Reef National Park Fall Colors. 2024
During the second group of my 2024 Capitol Reef & Utah Badlands Fall Photography Workshop, we were treated to some of the most incredible conditions I’ve witnessed. The dynamic play between sun and clouds transformed the landscape moment by moment, casting soft glows and dramatic shadows that made for truly breathtaking scenes.
The cottonwoods were at their peak, bursting with the most intense golden hues I’ve ever encountered in this area. Against the rugged backdrop of the badlands, their colors were nothing short of mesmerizing. Every turn presented a new composition—an endless display of contrast between the vibrant foliage and the raw, untamed desert.
This region has always been one of my favorites to explore. The way the cottonwoods weave through the Bentonite Hills, scattered boulders, rabbitbrush, and the winding Fremont River makes for an endlessly fascinating landscape. It’s a place where grand scenes and intricate details come together effortlessly, offering limitless photographic potential.
I’m thrilled to be offering the 2025 Capitol Reef & Utah Badlands Fall Photography Workshop once again. If you want to experience these striking landscapes in peak fall color, refine your photography skills, and capture unique, dynamic scenes in an intimate setting, this is the workshop for you.
Join me next year for an unforgettable journey into the heart of Utah’s breathtaking autumn landscapes.
