Glacier Lagoon, Iceland. 2022
The receding glaciers and icecaps of Iceland. I felt this image was a decent reminder of that simple fact. These icebergs were mimicking the background glacier's movement. Though it seems static, I assure you, it is not. The darker colored line is, to my knowledge, ground soil or exposed ground. The glacier surrounding it is being forced downward into the lagoon, all while receding in height and mass. Before too long, the glaciers will not be present here, and the beauty that resides because of this will change until the next ice age.
