Lies Beneath

North Fork, Montana. 2020

The colorful rocks of Montana are really something else. They are smooth, and colors ranging from reds to blues and everything in between. This shore of the North Fork River was so exception. Here, as it was, was a layer of ice which was onto of a ton of colorful boulders, this one obviously being blue/cyan. The ice was perfect, an inch thick layers, perfectly flat, like someone set a table of ice onto of the stones alongside the river. I photographed for hours! And damn was it cold! It was, if I remember right, around -8 degrees Fahrenheit. and the night got down to -20.
