Pale blue icebergs and flat ice floes float in still water, their ridged surfaces and dark streaks reflected below, while taller angular formations fade into dense fog in the background.
Iceland

Lost At Sea

Glacier Lagoon, Iceland. 2022

One morning while visiting the Glacier Lagoon area of Iceland, the fog was dense and, well, quite dull. I knew while framing up some compositions that images are not "as is," so I composed a plethora of compositions, attempting to create some sort of balance in the scene and maybe some stability. It really didn't take long for it to land on these three icebergs. The tricky part was that they were moving, ever so slowly but fast enough that it required me to move around. I changed my aspect ratio to 16:9 in the field and waited for the icebergs to move as they were to create the balance I was hoping for. Just a few seconds went by and I had the image I had somewhat imagined. With some postprocessing, I made this more of a high-key image, lending more of an etheral-like feel to the image, which suited it just fine.
