Mountain LandscapesMidnight Calm
Leknes, Norway. 2025
We had been battling rain for about a week solid at this point and this moment was our last night in the Lofoten Islands of Norway. So, I took full advantage of the nice light and lack of rain, I spent all night awake, tired, but thrilled to have some good conditions to photograph, finally.
Everything was looking great: mountains, reflections, wildflowers, natural green grasses and all. It was also silent. Not a soul outside. It was about 3:00am. So makes sense, but that is when the best light is. So I stayed up essentially all night. Not thinking of the 8-hour drive back to Tromsø we had to drive to in about 5 hours or so. This was all I was focused on and I am dang glad I did. Out of the two weeks in Norway, this is likely my favorite image I made while there. Simply due to the immense amount of rain that was constantly present.
