Southwest Desert

Primeval

Dark ominous clouds hung over head all day but shortly after sunset I hint of light came through. The recent snow was melting, creating waterfalls down the sandstone, the smell of wet sand and pine filled the air. The mood of this scene was encapsulating. The orange cliffs turned a darker red, the black clouds had a hint of red, and everything else went dark, just as the sun was leaving the impenetrable sky. I spent weeks in this region of Zion National Park. The Kolob Terrace side of Zion. An area I cannot believe people do not visit more. It is beyond stunning. Up until this moment, I have not disclosed any of these locations while having spent time on the west side of Zion. But 7 years later, I don't see these images making an impact.
