Black-sand Beach, Iceland. 2022
A black-sand beach in Iceland began to turn to ice during a very cold front came in. The temperatures went from 40 degrees to single digits in a single evening and damn it got cold. The black sand beaches turned to pure ice in some areas. As this beach began to freeze, the surface of the sand turned to pure white, into a frost. The polished rocks were not far behind in the same process.
