Dixie National Forest, Utah. 2025

After a phenomenal day of riding my DR 650 dirt bike around this region, with some great weather patterns, I came to a high point. Sunset was approaching and the dark ominous clouds just hovered above the cliffs and mountains in the distance.. often time the clouds were completely consume cliffs and forests. When I parked my motorcycle, I looked below and saw a small clearing I wanted to get to. So, I put on my shoes and grabbed my gear and hiked down a steep descent until I arrived. I eventually came to this view which proved much more difficult then I had hoped for. I began photographing just as the light came through the dense clouds, just above the western horizon. The scene lit up in a moody fashion: spotlighting sections of the land, all separated by deep shadows. I was pumped to see this light made its way into the composition. I rode back and got to my vehicle just as the pelting rain began to come down. Great day!
