Whitefish Mountain, Montana. 2020
Hours spent on top of a mountain peak, after split-boarding for a not very long time, thanks to the Whitefish Ski Resort lift. I stood atop a massive view. Overlooking hundreds of mountains, Glacier National Park, The Bob Wilderness, and so, so much more. Though when sunset came, my attention went to this stand of pine trees caked in snow and backlit from he setting sun. The light was damn good, as you can see and I could do nothing but work with the scene. I took of my split board and walked in the thigh deep snow, moving closer to the light landing on the snow in the foreground. As I did, the scene began to take shape. The light got better and a small group of clouds came flying up the mountain face, low and lit by the setting sun. What a great evening it was.
