Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah.

A full day of hiking on a new trail in the park. This trail, the Fairyland Trail was surreal. The light was amazing, we saw very few people all day and the hoodoos are truly remarkable. As sunset approached, we were hoofing it in order to end up somewhere to photograph the last bit of strong light coming down into the landscape. And thankfully, I ended up at just the right location. This large hoodoo formation, facing the setting sun, consumed the warm sunset light. The orange hoodoo was reflecting this light down onto the large ponderosa pine trees at the base of the hoodoo, resulting in a warm glow at the base of the hoodoo. I was thrilled to be photographing this scene, on a tripod and just hanging out watching this scene unfold while photographing at different intervals.
