Winter ScenesThe Great Throne
Zion National Park, Utah. 2020
All day snow would come in and leave moments later. I was spending most of my time on the east side of Zion National Park during this snow storm and it was fully socked in, in a full blizzard and you couldn't see more then a few hundred feet. So, I went down into the main scenic canyon of Zion National Park, along the Virgin River. This was the sweet spot. The density of snow and clouds weren't as thick so the views came to life every so often. This scene, when I arrived here, was completely socked in and you could see much. I put on my rubber river boots and walked into the Virgin River. I stood in here through passing snow and a light breeze, and over time my feet became very cold as those rubber boots have no insulation as the flowing Virgin River were over my feet (which were dry). About an hour or so of standing here, the scene began to unfold. The fog began to break, the snow halted momentarily and the landscape and vision came to fruition. The Great White Throne!
