Water cascades beside a dark rock face covered in dense rows of long icicles, with pale blue ice and snow coating the ledges and white spray obscuring much of the right side.

Untouchable

Skógafoss, Iceland. 2022

The temperature plummeted in the matter of a couple of days, and the waterfalls that were once free of ice were now caked in feet of ice on the walls, and in some cases, there were perfect ice cacti that resided behind the curtain of falling water. When photographing these scenes, the mist of the waterfall would land on my camera, lens and well, everything. Just after it landed, it would turn into tiny ice-balls that covered everything.
