Southern Utah Slot Canyon. 2026
A wild slot canyon in southern Utah. One of the most beautiful canyons in the world. Without a doubt. The light, formations, colors, and all. This canyon checks every box and more. I cannot believe just how amazing it is. I have now been here about five times. Most of those in the winter months. Though, in May of 2026, I led a group of photographers here during the Utah Wilderness Photography Workshop, and holy hell the light was beyond what I thought possible. Almost too good. Not a single person wanted to leave the canyon. We would walk up, then down canyon over and over, and each time new colors and light would appear. Slot Canyon photographing is easily the most enjoyable to create art within. Each bend tells you to keep moving. The subtle color changes, as well as light, makes you pay closer attention to the scenery in front of you. It just keeps you on your toes and keeps being quiet, contemplative, and creating.
