Southwest Desert

Oasis

After down-climbing on loose volcanic rocks and cliffs, I made it to the river bottom. I walked up stream and was greeted by this beautiful waterfall. The likelihood of anyone else knowing about this is very low. I have never seen an image of it or have heard of anyone hiking up this direction from this already lesser-known area of Zion National Park. This is the West Fork of the Virgin River. I technically was not in the national park at this point, but fairly close to it. The dappled light was fascinating and I was spending all of my free time in this zone of Zion National Park through late 2019 to early 2020. I spent weeks coming in this region to photograph, on a daily basis, watching weather patterns, seeking cooler temperatures and doing some great hiking. Most of which was off-trail, as was this particular spot.
