Two lone Larch Trees, in somewhat angled, autumn light. The gold and slight orange hue of these two trees stood precariously on the edge of a steep hill leading into the North Fork River. I am sure, these many years later, they are not there any longer. Erosion happens quick in a place of extremes such as Northern Montana.
Having spent weeks along this long stretch of dirt roads, where I found a deep connection to early on, was also where great golden Larch trees resided. And where interesting weather patterns would move in and out of the area. Just behind me, as I stood in the photograph, was Glacier National Park; towering mountains of the Livingston Range, massive valleys and more.
