Autumn ColorsDeep Within
The morning snowfall melts away in the deep canyons of Zion National Park. Just before the sun crested the precipitous cliffs of Zion Canyon, a group of clouds created a spot lighting effect on the landscape. This allowed me to compose this image and relate the sense of depth and height that was present while standing here.
As you can see, Angels Landing is the main focal point in the background of the frame. Angles landing is extremely tall as the "walters wiggles" section of the hike meanders back and forth as you gain elevation.
Fall colors in Zion and in southern Utah in general are always a special time of year.
The golden cottonwood trees, red desert cliffs and spires and the array of unique scenes that cannot be seen from anywhere else on earth.
