Winter Scenes

Passage of Time

A surprise of fresh snowfall and low hanging fog was present as I looked out my bedroom window. I grabbed all of my camera gear and quickly went to photograph the nearby cliffs. Thankfully, as luck would have it, I live within a few miles of these sandstone cliffs, so the drive was short and the dirt was too muddy in order to get out here. The light was fantastic as it created streaks of highlights throughout the winter scene and red rocks. Thousand Lake Mountain was in and out of the low hanging fog adding a sense of height to the scene. The light, moving in small stripes through the scene, added just a small punch to this image, revealing the breaking of clouds, for light to penetrate through into the landscape.
