I hiked in to this location, which was around six miles from the vehicle. I hiked onto the rim of this cliff and hiked until I found this unique location, which showcased the dramatic cliff face mixed with the fall colors on the landscape far below. As sunrise came, I was set up for this composition. The light turned this cliff face a pink color as the aspen trees below turned a vibrant orange color. This scene was made on Boulder Mountain in southern Utah. Boulder mountain is not a very well known area because of its vast and expansive vistas and dense forests.
