Suns Penetration

During an intense monsoon storm of heavy rain and frequent lightning strikes, I drove around to see what I could see. Where I parked for this, on a dirt road, the rain was accumulating and a beginning of a small flood was forming. It was flowing over rocks, down the dirt road I just drove up. I was not in danger, nor was anything down the way I came, but the accumulation was present. I got out of the vehicle to photograph this scene but as I did a snap of lightning came in, at the moment of the flash the snap of lightning happened simultaneously. Meaning the strike of lightning was extremely close. I immediately got into my vehicle and rolled down the window to photograph instead. The light began to periece the dark sky an slightly illuminate the Cox Comb, a feature in Wayne County, near Torrey and Teasdale. A feature I have photographed many times before. As the light came in, lightning was striking right at cox comb. Unfortunately, I could not capture the lighting strikes despise my best efforts to do so. Enjoy
