Fire-Flies

A single golden birch stands in the dense and dark, almost ominous forest the North Fork area of Montana. The golden hues standing out, almost as if floating among the darkness of the nightfall within dense trees at the edge of wilderness. The location for this area is quite wild. and I mean wild as in, its remote and damn wild, not a single impression of man in these forests, and these forests go on for miles upon miles, over mountains, lakes and valleys. This scene instantly caught my eye. And how could it not. The warm colors of yellow, glowing among dark forests. Reminding me of fire flies or a ghost or something moving around in the darkness. I worked this scene, placing the surround trees around the frame in order to lend the feeling I was after. Eventually that did happen. And here it is.
