Deep Freeze

Walking out to this location on an evening of -30 degrees farenhiet. My camera, lagging profoundly. The cold was like nothing I have experienced. Each breath was like drinking a icee. Whether through the nose or mouth. The beauty was profound; ice forming, fog forming off Lake Mcdonald, hoar frost across the lake because of this combination. It was unquestionably a cold ass day. I am a huge fan of extreme weather and temperatures. I seek it out. This was no exception to that. In weather such as this there are inherent risks involved which I did not take for granted. I kept clear of the depth of the lake and the outlet river. I stayed in safety. The entire experience was quite surreal, honestly. Though it wasn't far from the vehicle, it was as beautiful moment in time. I look back on this memory with the purity of happiness and love for nature and the intensity that it brings.
