Intimate Scenes

Ice Rocks

Ice patterns on the shore of the North Fork River in early winter. A cold snap came in and frozen everything. The river itself was flowing but with slush on its surface. The river banks had a thick, inch or two layer of ice over almost all of the rocks. It was pretty fascinating. Some of it was so perfectly flat, it was like a table made of ice, perfectly level and smooth. Though in others, that was not the case. This scene shows a section of ice that wasn't nearly as thick or high off the ground, but low enough to see colors and shapes of the rocks beneath the ice. When I say it was cold, let me tell you, daytime temperatures were about 0' degrees and nighttime temps were as slow as -24 degrees Fahrenheit. And yes, I did sleep in my vehicle this night.
