Mountain LandscapesThe Mighty One
Kintla Peak, the mighty one, as they say. This beautifully sculpted peak receiving the first light of the day during a four day backpacking trip. Our first day ended up being a Distance 16.3 miles with an elevation gain of 5,125 feet. It was an ass kicker of a first day. We started our backpacking trip in Glacier National Park before sunrise and arrived at the Boulder Pass Campground just a few hours before sunset. We began our hike around Kintla Lake, Upper Kintla Lake and then the 3,000 foot ascent to get to Boulder Campground.
Our whole backpacking trip would take us to Hole In The Wall and down to Bowman lake for a total of 34 miles with an elevation gain of 7,886 feet.
