Shoreline

On a guided backpacking trip that I was leading, we hiked around Lower Quartz Lake and up to Upper Quartz Lake, is shown here. We set up camp here, made some great dinner for the guests, and I went out to photograph as they were setting up their tents and getting ready for sunset. Upper Quartz Lake, in Glacier National Park, is a quite beautiful and serene place. It is quiet, and not many people come here. In all honesty it is not a location that backpackers are seeking out. The permits for all other locations were sold out and so this is my only option. Though it is beautiful and quiet, the views were much less then many other locations in the park.
