The Livingston Mountains in Glacier National Park. The view of these mountains as seen from the North Fork Road, on the West side of Glacier National Park, are dominating the landscape. Somewhat recent fires have made a lot of these forests so dense you can't see more then a few feet into. They are mostly all LodgePole Pine Trees. These trees seeds are only opened up and nurished when the heat of forest fires are present. So, when this fire came in, millions up millions of LodgePole Pine Pinecones opened up, the seeds released and planted naturally, planting millions of trees. You can see this slightly in the bottom of the frame, where there is no break in the green.
The older forests, not much left of them are just beyond the new growth, just hinting at what was. The area one had the golden Larch Trees for miles upon miles. A view that I wish I could have seen. Though the snowcapped Livingston Mountains of Glacier National Park tower over everything in the land, deeming everything small and insignificant in height comparison. This view really is one to witness for yourself.
