Burning Fog

A few of us went backpacking into Glacier National Park to Logging Lake. Logging Lake was a beautiful, large lake, and each morning, dense fog covered the floor of this massive valley. The fog would start to burn off around 10am, revealing the grand scale of the logging lake and the mountains that surrounded it, such as Mount Geduhn, Logging Mountain, Trapper Peak, and Anaconda Peak, as shown. The sun came through and began to burn off the fog. Sunlight hit the lake surface and the forests that surrounded it. Logging Lake is about 6 1/2 miles long, as this was photographed near the Adir designated campground, meant for backpacking into this area. We spent three days in here and each morning the fog would get burnt off from the sun. This was the first morning. And I set up right on the lake shore to showcase the mountains come into view as the fog burnt off the lake surface and the air that surrounded it and myself. I was taken back at the view unfolding in front of me. Just so dang beautiful! I can remember this vividly, six years later. Backpacking to Logging Lake in Glacier National Park in Montana, 2020
