Love of Light

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Utah. 2026

After a few days around the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument area I was feeling in touch with this land, as I usually do. I hiked up a popular trail, only to be alone, without a soul around. I went up just a short distance and was then drawn to the bank of the Escalante River. I follow the Escalante down river and came to a small cascade. The texture was great, the light was even better: light was hitting the cliff-side and reflecting the light onto the water and rock. I spend an hour, easily, just watching the ripples, textures and water move through the scene. The changing light is my favorite thing on earth to watch. I created a few images, this one being one of my favorites that showcased a variety of movement lines and shapes. I am offering fine-art prints of this scene and all of my work here in this gallery. Send an email or phone call if you have any questions.
