Intimate Scenes

Melting Gold

Very dense fog covered the world. After an hour or so the sun slowly started burning off the fog and created an etheral feel. During a three day backpacking trip I arose each morning for sunrise. Each morning, dense fog stuck around at least an hour. This morning, our first morning, as the sun burned through the fog, a faint glow reflected off Logging Lake. The sun finally making an appearance and it was just beautiful. The glow this was giving was a golden hue on the water surface, the simplicity of the scene, I was digging it. I was the only one awake, watching the forest on the opposing side of Logging Lake come into view, moment by moment the sun came through more and more. Watching this was a wonderful sight. I had been awake for a good while, hoping something would happen. Thankfully, this did.
