Having spent days on end in this region, I was finally able to get my bearings on what areas would produce a decent image, or a great one, occasionally. I had been at this spot before but with clear skies, it was quite boring. On this soaking wet, rainy day in the Hungry Horse Reservoir area of Northern Montana, low clouds funneled in and the sun ever-so slightly came through. Gaining elevation I could see the lake, golden Larch forests and low clouds hovering just a hundred feet above the lake and forest.
