Rippling water distorts cream, peach, gold, and dark green reflections into elongated ovals and flowing bands, creating a tightly framed abstract pattern across the entire surface.

Solar System

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Utah. 2026

Wild colors, reflections and sounds. This was a peaceful moment I will likely remember for a very long time. I stood here at the bottom of a large waterfall in Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. The body of water which it landed in was in shadow, though the cliffs, waterfall, and reeds all around were in direct sunlight. Because of that, the colors, soft light and contrasts was shown in the surface of the water. It was a moment of realization and peace to work with this small scene. One that I enjoyed a lot! This reminded me of the solar system: colors, chaos, depth, hidden mysteries and so much more.
