Stuck in Blues

Zion National Park, Utah. 2019

Hidden deep in the cool and cold shadows of a canyon wash, a maple leaf, vibrant as blood, lays on top for a great contrast. I really had my way with this one. Though photographing this in the presence of very cool tones, I ran with it. Pushed the blues farther down the line and allowed the intensity to come through. This was taken on the East side of Zion National Park. Zion Is one of the best places in the desert to photograph fall colors. There is such a variety to work with, with so many varying elements and mini ecosystems to work with. It really is a playground for photographers.
