Stumped

Stumps from large Larch trees or Ponderosa Pine trees. The lightning-like lines, contrasting in angles and textures, took me into the vision of what I envisioned this meaning could be, deeper within. I photographed and moved along, as many emotions were going on in my head; a passing of a best friend, still grieving heavily. Many images made in this time frame come from a deep grief of losing someone very close to me. In some images, with knowing this, you will likely see that. This was likely, not from logging but from a wildfire that came through this region, this tree being in close proximity to the North Fork Road, was likely cut down to help prevent the wildfire from continuing beyond the North Fork River. Though, that likely didn't help because the fire did go across the river and continued deep into Glacier National Park.
