Last Standing

I was on the search for a winter, forest scene. I was also on the lookout for this type of scene you see: One golden Larch tree among dark gray and black trees, with hints of white from the recent snow storm. I was driving slowly, being the only one on the road, I could do this no problem, even in Glacier National Park. I saw this scene, drove up to a pull-out and walked back and into the forest. It was dead quiet. sunset was approaching, the sky dark and everything quiet. I set up a couple compositions here and this is the one I landed on that I enjoyed the most. I felt it revealed the oddness of one yellow larch tree among wild forests.
